A domain name is a name which can be used to represent a network of computers. In simplistic terms, however, a domain name is used to represent a single Web site. For example, runningbiz.com points to the machine which "hosts" the files for the Web site you are viewing now. These domain names are centrally stored on the Internet so that there are no conflicts over names.
